Lies of P is Getting DLC in the Summer

Lies of P Overture Snowy City

One of the biggest surprises from the crazy stacked year that was 2023, was Lies of P. There is a sprawling ocean of soul-like games after Dark Souls, and now Elden Ring popularized the subgenre. But this game was different, it had an air of discussion around it unlike any other. Its ambience felt like Bloodborne, and when people played it – the game felt like it was actually developed by Fromsoftware. This is no easy feat, as creating a subgenre-inspired game that feels so close to its inspiration is very hard to pull of legally. But the developers at Round 8 Studio nailed the feel of the game and now sit as a modern-era classic for many souls-like fans.

Now that we are only a year, and some change removed from its release. Many have wondered when we would see a new announcement regarding Lies of P, considering it was teased that a sequel, and DLC were on the way all the back in 2023. Well, the game’s fans will not have to wait too much longer. As the DLC for the game was finally announced at Wednesday’s State of Play. Here is everything we learned from the breathtaking trailer!

Lies of P Overture Details

The DLC for Lies of P, named “Overture” will be launching in the summer of this year. It will be a prequel to the game’s story, and therefore there will be many opportunities to touch on the game’s lore. From the YouTube video description: “Cross the bounds of time in Lies of P: Overture, a dramatic prequel that transports you back to Krat in its unseen grandeur on the verge of collapse. Follow the path of the Legendary Stalker, uncover hidden secrets, and endure relentless battles that will define the past and future of Lies of P.”

In the trailer, we got to see a lot of cool action and epic boss fights. There is going to be a lot of new weapons being added to the game too. Two of the standouts were obviously the bow and claw weapons. But there are a few other highlights. Either it was a scripted cutscene, or you will be able to summon Stalkers at will. The other highlight was this cool multi-hit attack that reminds me of something from Stellar Blade.

The DLC is looking very exciting so far. However, there is no concrete release day, or price announced just yet. But it will be launching at the same time on every platform it is available.
