Back in February of last year, we shared some exciting Lego sports news. At that time, it was announced that Lego’s first foray into the sports gaming realm would be a football (soccer) title, developed through a partnership with 2K. However, in March of this year, a surprise announcement came our way: Lego 2K Drive, their motorsport-themed game, appeared to take the spotlight as the first release. Nevertheless, the football game wasn’t forgotten, and it appears that it is finally on its way. Enter Lego 2K Goooal!, the highly anticipated football game that may pose a formidable challenge to EA’s upcoming EA FC 24, unexpectedly emerging from the Lego 2K Partnership.

Recently, Lego 2K Goooal! received a rating in Korea, which is noteworthy considering another major rating occurred in the same country for the highly anticipated return of Red Dead Redemption. This news may bring hope to fans of the Red Dead Redemption franchise, as it suggests that Lego’s football/soccer game is indeed progressing. However, details regarding gameplay mechanics and features remain scarce. While the essence of the sport itself will not change, the gaming industry has witnessed various approaches to football/soccer games over the years. FIFA and PES (now EA FC and eFootball) have taken a different presentation style compared to classics like Dino Dini’s Kick Off or Sensible Soccer. To gain a clearer understanding, one can observe the recent revival of Kick Off, which showcases a distinct approach to the sport.

Lego 2K Goooal! And What We Know

Gematsu updated the rating in Korea story. For a second rating, the game appeared. This time it appeared in Taiwan. The game was found on the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee website as we see below.

So the game is rated for all consoles and PC. Therefore if the listing is a legitimate release it should only be a matter of time before the game is officially revealed. Hopefully, we can hear more news soon.
