About a month ago we brought you the news of a Bloober Team remake that has nothing to do with Silent Hill 2. Instead, it’s one of their own games being remade. The game in question is their upcoming Layers of Fear remake. There has been an announcement trailer that lets us know they are remaking the game in Unreal Engine 5. The remake is also being co-developed with Anshar Studios. The release window hasn’t been updated since we brought you the news of the remake, it’s still set for June. However we can update you with some gameplay of the upcoming remake,

The Layers of Fear remake was originally using the name Layers of Fears. An article by PC Gamer tells us of some of the things we can expect in the remake as well. So for example “Lumen, Ray Tracing, HDR, volumetric lighting and Niagara”. We’ve all these terms before though Niagara may be a little unfamiliar. It is the term used for the technology behind the engine’s fluid simulation. So let’s look at the gameplay provided by Bloober Team. This is a new location designed for the remake, the lighthouse area.

What Else The Layers Of Fear Remake Is Bringing

Being completely rebuilt offers a lot to the gamer. We have both Layers of Fear’s titles and the DLC all thoroughly recreated in Unreal Engine 5. It’s coming to PC via Steam and you can wish list it for Steam right now. It’s also coming to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. You can also wish list it on the PlayStation store.
