Take on the role of Henry again in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (KCD2), and this time around you can pick up the old family trade of working the forge. For those who have not yet played Kingdom Come Deliverance, if you enjoy medieval immersion, realistic melee combat, and a vast living world to explore, I highly recommend giving it a try. In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, we will have the ability to use the forge to craft items, potentially powerful and valuable weapons, although the details are still unclear.
A tweet from the official KCD2 Twitter/X profile last week confirmed the blacksmithing minigame. According to them, the minigame will bring you close to the medieval forge. A few questions immediately popped up once I saw this tweet.
What will you be able to make at the forge?
How deep will blacksmithing go in the game? Is it simply something extra to do in the world of KCD2 to add immersion, or is it potentially game-changing? The ability for players to craft equipable and sellable gear and weapons would be truly amazing. A one-of-a-kind sword and shield that make Henry a man-slaying machine would be epic. Also, if you can craft tools and items for the sole purpose of selling or trading them to merchants, it would be a fun way to make money.
Will there be perks or skills for Blacksmithing?
The first Kingdom Come Deliverance had perks for everything. Combat and skills, ranging from pickpocketing to warfare, offer perks. What kind of cool and interesting perks will be added for blacksmithing? For starters, I can imagine perks that increase durability or even damage output. A fun one that, if it exists, will be a core element of my playstyle. The perk would make the player’s created items receive a boost in value.
Knowing how much care developer Warhorse Studios put into the original, it is easy to imagine blacksmithing will not be a gimmick in KCD2. As of now, there is no official release date for KCD2, but make sure to wishlist it on PC via Steam and go play Kingdom Come Deliverance, which still holds up with very positive reviews.
