The recent State of Play had a very strong focus on Japanese devs. And Bandai Namco had a few surprises for fans to show what was coming. As they bring the popular Shounen series Jojo’s Bizarre adventure to modern consoles. Because they announced a remaster of All-Star Battle with the new All-Star Battle R!
For those who are not aware Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure games have a long history of fighting games. And many of those games have long been exclusive to the PlayStation platform since the PS3. Most notably one of those games was All-Star Battle, for instance. A 3D style brawler with characters spanning, at the time, Parts 1 through 5 primarily and a few from Parts 6 through 8. Boasting over 40 characters.
But now with the remaster they are increasing the roster size to over 50 so we may see more characters from previous parts or more from the later series Post Stone Ocean. And with new game modes and a story campaign, this is truly a great surprise for fans of the Meme worthy anime (Myself included.)
Now, you can see the official trailer and follow the official Twitter account for Jojo’s above. Obviously they are able to capture the purely over-the-top style and action of the manga and anime. With that very distinct line heavy coloring and unique sound effect pop-ups. For fans of the series and fighting games, this is definitely one to keep an eye on.
With a release window of fall of 2022, it is coming out soon. However, the most exciting news is the platforms that the game will be launching on. Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R will launch on Steam, PS4, PS5, Switch, and for the first time, Xbox Series X/S & Xbox One Consoles.
