The cutesy cozy open world of Infinity Nikki has been out for less than half a year at this point and could only be played on mobile devices, a dedicated PC launcher and the PlayStation 5. But in its recent 1.5 version update, the game has been brought to Steam (and the Steam Deck) for easier access to its community. There are also quite a few changes to the game that were made in this version update. Including a new intro, new location and online co-op.
The Introduction of The Seer in Infinity Nikki
Infinity Nikki version 1.5 changes the intro of the game. Originally, Nikki found a mysterious dress that dragged her into Miraland. Here she encountered Ena the Curator who summoned monsters called Esselings and sent Nikki into the vast open world to investigate random comas villagers of the land fell into. Now, Nikki encounters a mysterious winged cosmic being called The Seer. The Seer pulls Nikki through a ripple between time and space in an admittedly beautiful and linear intro sequence. But from here, you can either go back and explroe Miraland or a whole new smaller location.
But the core new feature of version 1.5, is online co-op. Players can finally play with a friend and explore the new Sea of Stars location together. Players can teleport to each other, pose for in-game photos, and enjoy all-new interactions together. Including Bubble themed puzzles, escort missions and more. Making a big fundamental change for the game’s open world experience!
Finally, players can take advantage of the Dyeing System. As the name implies, you can recolor individual parts of outfits and build your own sign custom looks. Version 1.5 also includes a slew of free outfits to collect, including a 5-star outfit you can get by just exploring the Sea of Stars.
