ICARUS: Console Edition, an extraterrestrial first-person PVE survival game, releases on Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 on February 26th. This game was originally developed and released on PC by Dean Hall (DayZ, Kitten Space Agency). Players who pre-order will receive a Pet Companion Pack DLC. This DLC features an assortment of 11 additional animals (cats, dogs, and some horses). This edition also combines the original base game that was released on PC with the New Frontiers Expansion. The expansion adds 3 additional biomes, more predators, and 30 additional workshop items.
The basic gist of ICARUS: Console Edition is that humanity attempted to terraform the titular planet and failed. Players build shelters, craft supplies, and try to survive against poisoned air, deadly storms, and the planet’s assortment of predators. The announcement trailer below slips in a few terrifying critters, such as ice scorpions and a gigantic sandworm. You can embark on the adventure solo or squad up with 3 other people.
