Guangzhou-based indie developer Hunter Studio has confirmed that Lost Castle 2 — its popular 2D beat-’em-up roguelite — will exit Steam Early Access and reach version 1.0 on June 11, 2026. The announcement, made at the Triple‑i Initiative Showcase, arrived alongside a new gameplay trailer spotlighting chaotic co-op combat, towering bosses, and fresh environments. To mark the reveal, Lost Castle 2 is discounted 20% on Steam during the Triple‑i Sale (April 9–16).

What’s arriving in 1.0 The full 1.0 release completes the studio’s Phase 6 roadmap and delivers several major additions and polish items fans have awaited:

  • Final Story Ending: The game’s narrative reaches an epic conclusion with the Final Chapter added in 1.0.
  • Ethereal Nightmare 4 & 5: Two new top-tier difficulties provide the “True Nightmare” challenge for veteran players seeking punishing encounters.
  • Third Layer Inscription Resonance: A new inscription resonance tier expands build depth and enables powerful, synergistic combinations.
  • Full Progression Overhaul: Out-of-match systems have been reworked and balanced after a year of Early Access feedback.
  • Complete Content: All weapons, treasures, armor sets, and hidden secrets introduced during Early Access will ship with the 1.0 build.

Final Early Access content: Hidden Mage Tower. Before the 1.0 rollout, Hunter Studio released the Hidden Mage Tower update as the final major Early Access drop. That patch adds a secret level, new boss encounters, rebalanced single-handed weapons, and a revamped story unlock system — a last round of content and tuning ahead of the full launch.

Community-driven features and events, Hunter Studio continues to lean on community creativity. A live “Design a Weapon” contest invites players to submit weapon, armor, or accessory concepts for possible inclusion in the final game — submissions are open through April 20. The developer is also active on Discord for contest details and community discussion.

Trailer and coverage The new trailer, which debuted at Triple‑i, showcases cooperative combat, boss setpieces, and the game’s signature fast-paced, Monster Hunter–inspired combat loops. Watch the trailer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsBMhdFyv4c

Sales and milestones Lost Castle 2 has already exceeded 700,000 units sold since entering Steam Early Access in July 2024, underlining strong demand for the sequel. Hunter Studio — founded in 2015 by three university friends — previously saw major success with the original Lost Castle, which surpassed one million sales.

What this means for players. The June 11 1.0 launch promises a definitive Lost Castle 2 experience: a finished narrative arc, endgame difficulties for hardcore players, deeper build systems, and the full complement of Early Access content polished by community-driven balancing. Players interested in previewing the final major Early Access content or trying their luck in the item design contest should act before the mid‑April deadlines.
