Back in September of 2020 we had the introduction of a few games at a PlayStation event. This was also the reveal of the PlayStation 5 when we saw the final design and price. Among the games, we saw Final Fantasy XVI, Hogwarts Legacy, and a small teaser for God of War Ragnarok. Just over 15 months on we are no closer to a release window for any of these except for the God of War 2018 sequel
At the start of last year, we saw announced a delay to one of those games, Hogwarts Legacy. When browsing the game’s Twitter account the last tweet posted was that the highly antiquated game was delayed.
The state today of Hogwarts Legacy
Some light has been shed by Colin Moriarty. He is the host of the podcast Sacred Symbol. What he reports is not positive news at all. Colin Moriarty stated that he’s heard behind the scenes that the game isn’t coming out this year and that it’s in some sort of trouble. Even with that we still have the following Tweet from WB Avalanche from December. They said they were excited to share more news and updates on Hogwarts Legacy in 2022. And pretty much a year on from last year’s delay announcement this rumor hits.
Colin Moriarty is a known PlayStation insider but even still, this news should be taken lightly. With no updates on development for some time it’s not the most promising of scenarios for the game. The game already lost one of its developers last year which more information can be found here.
