Heretics and Traitors Beware, The Arbites Are En Route—Warhammer 40k: Darktide

Arbites

Thanks to Fatshark, developers and publishers of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, at Summer Game Fest: Play Days 2025, we were able to violently uphold the Emperor’s Justice as the Adeptus Arbites class. The upcoming character DLC for the 2022 Warhammer title gives you control of the Imperial tithe collectors and their hounds. The armored officers with their customizable cyber-mastiffs will be available for $11.99 on June 23, 2025.

While using the Arbites class, the first thing that stood out was that I never felt alone, no matter the number of enemies I was facing, because my cyber-mastiff had my back. I didn’t have to watch my killer hound uphold the Lex, which was the best part. They will passively attack any and all enemies. Furthermore, like any good puppers, they would attack any special or elite enemy I directed them toward, making handling heretics effortless. Now, Fatshark will also be releasing a free update that offers a more structured narrative experience and a rework of difficulty progression. This seems to be a great time for new players such as myself to dive into Darktide.

  • Combat Abilities
    • Nuncio Aquila: the Nuncio-Aquila replenishes toughness and enemies within 7.5m will take increased damage.
    • Castigator’s Stance: this stance grants you higher movement speed and reduces damage taken. Each elite or Special kill while in the stance, reduces its remaining cooldown.
    • Break the Line: step forward and bash, causing high stagger to enemies in front of you (we highly recommend you try this with the Shock Maul and Suppression Shield)
  • Blitz Abilities
    • Arbites Grenade: Throw an Arbites Grenade that explodes after a short delay.
    • Remote Detonation: cause an explosion at your Cyber-Mastiff’s Location, Staggering and Electrocuting nearby Enemies.
    • Voltaic Shock Mine: Throw a Voltaic Shock Mine that activates as it lands. It Electrocutes enemies with 5m for 15 seconds.
  • Weapons
    • Arbites Shotgun
      • Special Action: loads the weapon with one special shell that gives the next shot electrocution and Stun properties
    • Arbites Shock Maul
      • Special Action: Performs a powered-up electrifying attack that Stuns Electrocuted enemies
    • Arbites Shock Maul and Suppression Shield
      • Special Action: Blocking attacks charges the shield’s energy (displayed in the top right corner of the shield). Energy is also passively gained slowly over time. If enough energy is stored, the Special action consumes part of the energy and performs a high-power electrical flash, which stuns and suppresses enemies in a cone in front of the shield.
    • Arbites Shotpistol and Riot Shield
      • Special Action: Use the firearm to attack your enemy in close combat. To achieve this make sure to hold your side mouse button or right joystick, when releasing you will bash your opponent, follow up by a left click or right bumper to to shoot at your enemies.
