Hypercharge: Unboxed Review John Marston PC Bound In Red Dead Redemption? Pine Harbor Out In Early Access – How It Looks At Alpha Stage Shadows Offering An Interesting Assassin’s Creed Open World Lara Croft And The Future Of The Tomb Raider Franchise

Hey folks, remember last year when the whole gaming community was buzzing about GTA 6? Well, we finally got that update we’ve been waiting for, but not without a bit of drama. The trailer leaking online forced Rockstar Games’ hand and the reveal to be brought forward. We saw the new protagonists and world we get to experience and snippets of a possible story and the game visually has come on leaps and bounds in the decade following the launch of the fifth game.

Now when the trailer appeared the game was given a release window of 2025. The release would be on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S first and PC at a later date. Though this isn’t unusual as we’ve seen Rockstar do this before first with the titan that is GTA 5 and with Red Dead Redemption 2.

Since that trailer, Rockstar has allegedly upset the developers for the next guaranteed small hit GTA 6. At the start of the month according to Eurogamer, developers were told by Jenn Kolbe, Rockstar’s head of publishing “they must return to work at Rockstar and not work from home.”

The decision was called downright reckless. This is after Rockstar Games stated they have availability for flexible work options which has been a lifeline for some staff. This could cause further issues for the future of the highly anticipated game and according to Kotaku, we could be set to see even more down the line.

What Could Be Happening To The GTA 6 Release?

Kotaku’s article states the company is aiming for an early 2025 release window, but also workers are struggling with being forced to work in the office and denied the flexible working options that were promised. It is also alleged the staff received little notice of this change. Kotaku reported that an anonymous source allegedly told them “that development on GTA 6 has started falling behind”. The author of the article states

I’m told this has leadership at Rockstar nervous and worried about the game missing the 2025 window and slipping into 2026, and is another big reason the company is pushing for a return to the office in April.

We don’t know when the game will release but Rockstar will no doubt update fans in due course when they feel the time is right. This is also still a rumour so take it all lightly.
