We are rounding the final lap to launch for GT7. The PlayStation 5 debut for Gran Turismo is only a week away now from roaring onto consoles and coming out of first gear. It’s a stunning game visually and for the gameplay, it’s expected to be top-notch. This is also available to preload if you preordered digitally. For PlayStation 5 you’re looking at about 97 GB of space needed which is a fraction less than the reported 110 GB. But how realistic is the latest Gran Turismo? So let’s compare GT7 vs reality.
Sony has actually thought about this and done just that. What they gave us is a comparison video of the Willow Springs race track. The GT7 vs reality was a comparison from the in-car footage captured on a PlayStation 5 console vs the reality which is in-car footage using a GoPro from inside the car’s cockpit
GT7 vs Reality
There is a comparison video from Sony but bear in mind the reality side with a GoPro is likely to be bumpy. But it’s the visual side that’s the strength in this trailer as we see below.
The visual comparison is striking as well as the physics for the car on the track. GT7 vs reality is indeed very close. The mountain structure is accurately reflected in-game as are the advertising boards around the track. The camber of the track is faithfully recreated.
The video here is a more in-depth look with thoughts from content creator Super GT. This is who provided the PlayStation 5 content. The driver providing the real-life content was Dai Yoshihara. His driving experiences are pretty impressive including a Formula Drift title in 2011. He retired from competing in the Drift Championship back in 2018. However is this a game you’re looking forward to or are you steering clear?
