Last year we told you about a game set in the mythical lands of J. R. R. Tolkien’s Middle Earth. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is going to be a unique take on the works of Tolkien as we play as Sméagol. He’s from near the Gladden Fields and is a Stoor Hobbit of the River-folk. He is also known more famously as Gollum. It was due in September for all consoles and PC. At the time it was said this game was about his “experiences from behind-the-scenes in the first chapters of The Fellowship of the Ring”. We also know the game takes us from the Misty Mountains on a dangerous journey with locations such as the Barad-dûr dungeons and Mirkwood.
The game was due to launch on the 1st of September 2022. The timing was apt as Amazon Prime had their series set thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.” We are now well into March 2023, six months after the show debuted but where is the Gollum game?
The Update On Gollum
We had the pleasure of seeing the latest story trailer at the recent Nacon showcase. That can be seen below:
What do we know about the game? Market Screener has a description of the game from the Nacon showcase. They tell us:
“more of Daedalic’s Untold Story was revealed today in a trailer featuring Gollum’s extraordinary adventure in search of his Precious. The original story takes you to several regions of Middle-earth where you meet well-known characters from the books of J.R.R. Tolkien. You will need remarkable agility and guile to avoid the dangers en route”.
