Sony seems to be branching out with PC ports at present with both Uncharted and God of War heading across. The most recent God of War was a huge success and received many plaudits. Last year to players got what they were waiting for with the announcement of God of War: Ragnarok.

We’ve seen very little of God of War: Ragnarok as well. The only footage we’ve seen since the announcement is from back in September. This was a brief look at the game’s environment via in-engine cinematics and what appears some early gameplay. But with many titles in this pandemic suffering delays and some being extensive, when was the sequel coming?

Could we finally have news

This question is simply answered yes, it is indeed possible news has leaked.  However, take this news with some awareness it may be a placeholder. PlayStation Game Size warned of this fact when they found some information regarding God of War: Ragnarok in the PlayStation database.

What has transpired is some release information after a database update. Nothing has been confirmed from Sony at the time of writing.

Release Information

The date found in the database puts a return of Kratos for September 30th, 2022.  This highly anticipated game as we know it is not PlayStation 5 exclusive thanks to a post on the PlayStation blog earlier this year when Hermen Hulst confirmed a release for PlayStation 4

Where it makes sense to develop a title for both PS4 and PS5 — for Horizon Forbidden West, the next God of War, GT7 — we’ll continue looking at that. And if PS4 owners want to play that game, then they can. If they want to go on and play the PS5 version, that game will be there for them.

What are your thoughts on this? As always we’d love to hear from you.
