Glitchpunk Was More or Less What I Expected & That’s Not A Bad Thing

Glitchpunk is a top-down cyberpunk game set in a dystopian future. As an android bounty hunter, you will drive, shoot and brawl your way through countless amounts of gangs and cults.

Now that the obligatory “what is this game” is about of the way let’s really get into this game. Keep in mind that as of the writing of this the title is still in early access and I have not fully reviewed the title. This is more of an opportunity for you the reader to learn more about my short experience.

Glitchpunk is a callback to classic GTA games in a lot of ways. With plenty of vehicles to steal and violence to be had, players who enjoy the top-down style of games will have tons of enjoyment from this title. One thing that struck me was the roguelike elements. There is no autosave, which basically turns the game into a roguelike, the only way to save is to utilize the gang hideout locations which essentially are save points. Or unless you are just ‘that guy’ you can complete the entire experience in one sitting.

A much-enjoyed aspect of Glitch punk is how you can change & modify your character with different abilities. Throughout the title, you can use modules that can be obtained through missions, discovered, or purchased from shops. This includes a pretty useful ability that allows you to hack people with your focus driving them absolutely crazy. Other modules boost your stats, provide health and focus regeneration, or give you new powers.

Although there we some surprises, Glitchpunk truly was about what I expected more a less, it’s a title that I will need to play more of to give a full review. As for now, its definitely worth the price of admission on steam.
