The success for Sucker Punch just keeps coming, as Ghost of Tsushima has now sold over 5 million copies since launch. In addition, Hermen Hulst also took to Twitter to announce other details for the samurai epic. In a tweet, Hulst announced the game is the PS4’s “fastest-selling first-party original game”. This metric puts the game ahead of other new first-party releases like Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone, and Bloodborne. But, Ghost of Tsushima selling its 5 million copies won’t get it past some others. Games like God of War, Spider-Man, and The Last of Us Part II exceeded 2.4 million in their first 3 days. Regardless, seeing a new IP find this level of success, cements that Ghost of Tsushima is here to stay for the foreseeable future. Back in August, PlayStation shared that the game was their fastest-selling new IP. Just three days removed from launch, the game sold more than 2.4 million copies. So, it’s great news to see the success for Sucker Punch continue to mount. Ghost of Tsushima Sells 5 Million Copies Sucker Punch’s latest adventure released back in July to both commercial and critical acclaim. Since then, the game has only gotten better through updates. Updates that have surprised gamers, one of which being the new Legends mode. A cooperative multiplayer mode that sees players take on missions with up to 4 others. The addition took everyone by surprise and best of all? The mode was free of charge. The updates don’t stop there, as the team also announced support for PlayStation 5. On the PlayStation 5, the game will feature faster loading and run at a smooth 60 fps. So for those who have been holding out on playing the legends mode, this may be the way to experience it.
