With the 1.4 Update for Genshin Impact officially going live today there always seems to be something new for players. MiHoYo was taking online sign-ups for their Genshin Impact 1.5 Beta, but have officially closed sign-ups. With it having been a public application, it was open to the public but they will have needed to sign NDA’s.
There is quite a bit of speculation of what new additions will be in the 1.5 beta. Alongside a new online event on their website where players will cook delicious meals online and receive them in-game. Players are now able to install the 1.4 update on all platforms. You can read my previous article detailing all the new events coming; as well as the upcoming quality of life changes.
New Characters for 1.5:
So there have been several reports of what potential additions we will see in the 1.5 update. And due to the fact this comes from data miners as well as known Genshin leakers, all information should be taken with a grain of salt.
One of the first is that a potentially new 5-star character, Eula, will be a cryo claymore physical DPS addition. As well as, Shenhe, who is said to be a Cryo Polearm or catalyst. With two potential possibilities for Shenhe, it could be interesting which change comes to. Seeing as there are many 5-star polearm characters in the game already, and few catalyst users, if those hold true it will be interesting which weapon user she will be.
Dendro purportedly coming:
In Genshin Impact there are 7 elements in the world of Teyvat, Pyro, Cryo, Anemo, Geo, Hydro, Electro, and Dendro. One of the most notable of these elements lacking is Dendro, sometimes seen as another form of earth separate from geo. The only way Dendro shows up now is the enemy Shamachurls, shamans who use different elements as attacks. However, there are two characters that have Dendro visions that players meet in the Story, Dr. Baizhou and Yaoyao.
And while this is a highly sought-after addition as it seems that Dendro may not be coming in 1.5 due to another leaker. Of course remember that both of these are unconfirmed rumors and with the fact they are conflicting reports, it is best to wait for official confirmation.
Now things could change as the official beta hasn’t gone live, but with it being under NDA, take this with a grain of salt till we receive official confirmation.
Potential new area:
So one of the biggest additions rumored for the Genshin Impact 1.5 beta is the addition of a new area, specifically Inazuma. It has been rumored that we will soon be head to the land of Hydro, however that may not be the case. While players saw the addition of Dragonspine in the 1.2 update earlier this year, and players have been waiting for the next area to explore.
While many were hoping that Inazuma may be coming in 1.5, however, that may not come out till the potential 1.6 update before summer starts. Players may still be getting a new area to explore though on a smaller scale. Right now it is said that the Chasm is going to be added in the 1.5 update. This area is still rather large but not nearly as large as it would take to add an entirely new country.
The Chasm has been stated in the game as a massive mining area that had been closed off in Liyue. So this could be their sister expansion, similar to how Dragonspine is technically a part of Mondstadt while still being its own region.
But until we see the official confirmation or more potential leaks, this is still just hearsay.
With so many potential new additions coming in the Genshin Impact 1.5 beta, it will be interesting to see what makes it into the final game. I can say for one thing for sure is that Genshin Impacts’ continued success will only grow from here.
