The Gears of War franchise is widely recognized as a successful series that has gained a large following over the years. However, since the release of the fifth game in 2019, there has been a lack of news on the series. The fifth game was the largest project in the series, featuring new gameplay mechanics and a semi-open environment, and many fans, including myself, found it to be a better end result than its predecessor, part 4. This begs the question of where the franchise goes from here.
Although we have no idea when or if Gears 6 is coming, we do know that it will be taking advantage of Unreal Engine 5. What’s Happening With Gears Of War
It seems am old face is returning to the series. That is Joshua Ortega who worked on the game when the titles launched on the Xbox 360. So this came about with Ortega posting on Twitter.
If he has returned it’s a developer who knows the franchise well however there is nothing official from Microsoft or The Coalition.
