Gamescom 2024 is well underway and we’ve seen new games and updates on previously announced games. However, everyone has varying interests and what catches one person’s eye is going to be very different from anothers. We’ve seen some surprise reveals and games shown which came as no surprise. Therefore I thought I’d put some games on the table that may or may not be for you. Or they may be games that you missed. Now let’s take a deep dive into Gamescom 2024
Gamescom 2024 – My Personal Highlights
All the games listed shown were games I found caught my eye. So where do we start? Be mindful that these are only some but it’s a start
Borderlands 4
The film may not be the biggest success in the franchise catalog. However, after waiting a few years for a new game we have news of a fourth instalment. We see a teaser of a new planet in the franchise as we step into the vault hunter shoes once more.
Atomfall
So the team that gave us Sniper Elite and Zombie Army has a new IP due March next year. Rebellion describe it as a “survival-action game inspired by real-life events”. The game will be set “five years after the Windscale nuclear disaster in Northern England”.
Starship Troopers Extermination
Being a huge fan of the film franchise, this caught my eye when it hit Steam early access. This is a co-op shooter which puts you on the front line in a battle against the arachnids
Dune Awakening
The survival game gives us a co-op taste of this iconic franchise. We can now finally see what this MMO looks like. Are you ready to take to the deserts of Arrakis?
Indiana Jones And The Great Circle
The hat and the whip are back as we see Troy Baker take the reigns of Dr Jones. We now have a release date for 9th December for Xbox Series X/S and PC and Spring for PlayStation 5.
Sniper Elite: Resistance
This will launch next year on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. It will also be part of the Game P service at launch. This however is a standalone spin-off that will run alongside the events of Sniper Elite 5. We will play Harry Hawker an agent of the Special Operations Executive (SOE), who discovers something guaranteeing a Nazis victory in the war
Lost Records: Bloom And Rage
Fans of Life is Strange may wish to check out the latest IP from Don’t Nod. In the style of the well-known franchise, we have another episodic adventure game. Part 1 will launch on 18th February next year and the final part a month later on 18th March.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
I was a huge fan of the original game by Warhorse Studios. The upcoming sequel sees the return of Henry of Skalitz. The sequel continues Henry’s story and is set a few months after the original game. The original game is still worth playing today and I feel it would be lovely to see a next gen upgrade.
