The console is no longer at the forefront of Xbox’s strategy; Game Pass has taken over what Microsoft’s gaming division is all about. This is so vital to the current and future success of Xbox that Microsoft is willing to have a bigger presence in Xbox strategy. The success of Xbox going forward depends on Game Pass and reaching gamers that the console could not reach. Still, with the current Xbox strategy being more akin to Netflix and other video streaming services, it is easier to get into the homes of many.
