On the final day of San Diego Comic-Con, Funko, Inc. revealed its intentions to enter the video game industry during the company’s Hall H-Pop! Talk panel. In 2023, a AAA Action Platformer will be created by the firms in conjunction with developer 10:10 Games thanks to Funko’s partnership. Some of the top creators in the market have come together to work on it at 10:10 Games, which is led by video game developer Jon Burton.
Andrew Perlmutter, CEO of Funko had the following to say about the move into the video game space:
“Creating iconic products that emotionally connect fans to their favorite fandoms is critical to each product portfolio decision. By partnering with 10:10 Games and utilizing the best creators in the business, we will have the talent to deliver games that reflect Funko’s unique look and feel across its lines and varied products.”
With the as-yet-untitled release, Funko and 10:10 Games will concentrate on creating AAA content for current and next-gen consoles as well as PC. The executive team said during the panel that this initial game will be an action platformer with significant third-party studio integration and be rated “T” for teens.
