After many delays and difficulties, Fntastic has finally released The Day Before. One of these had a forced delay due to trademark difficulties. The game was delayed from its original November release date to December 7th. Initially releasing the game in early access, with a console release to come later. It was the studio’s first major release, and previous to its release, content creators and players were skeptical of the final result, despite the dazzling early teasers.
Fntastic released The Day Before on the most recently announced launch day (December 7th). There appeared to be no review codes prior to the launch. That is a red flag for many, and the early footage following the launch did not bode well. In fact, the Steam reviews matched the footage. They were not at all upbeat. The game’s Steam page states that “The Day Before offers players a uniquely reimagined journey into post-apocalyptic open-world MMO survival set in the present day on the US East Coast following a deadly pandemic”. Players discovered that this was far from the case. At the time of writing, the game’s reviews were generally unfavorable, with an overall rating of 20% of 18,420.
Fntastic Not Living Up To Its Name
They released a message on social media four days after the launch. So, if you bought this game or were hoping for it to be fixed and released on a later system, we have some very bad news for you. The studio will be closed down immediately. The statement is shown below.
Therefore it looks like current owners of the game are stuck with the game as it is. The statement tells us the game failed financially and they can’t afford to continue. All income is being used to pay off debts. Whether another studio in the future could take over is unknown. The future of the game they say is unknown but the servers are going to remain on.
