Fallout is a popular RPG franchise, currently in the hands of Bethesda. Fans will remember that one installment, Fallout: New Vegas, was developed by Obsidian Entertainment. Both of these studios are now part of the Microsoft family. Naturally this led to rumours and speculation of a sequel, remake, or even a remaster of the Obsidian release. A sequel is something I would definitely love to see reach the Wastes.
The most recent installment in the franchise is one with mixed views. Fallout 76 has becoming infamous in the gaming space for it’s rough launch in late 2018. Season 9 commences on 14th June, closely following the upcoming Xbox and Bethesda conference.
We have an upcoming fan mod for the fourth game based in London. However what makes this equally impressive is the use of actors Sylvester McCoy and Colin Baker. This may not mean alot to many outside the UK but they both played an iconic role. They are the 6th and 7th forms of the Doctor, the iconic Gallifreyan Time Lord from Doctor Who.
Fallout: The Future
It remains likely that Fallout 5 will be developed eventually but a rumour has surfaced indicating the franchise is still a priority. A recent retweet from Jez Corden highlighted a fan’s spot to the attention of others.
So from this IdleSloth84, an insider, claims thatRand_al_Thor_19 believes the Xbox and Bethesda showcase will have some Fallout content. As to whether its a fifth game, sequel to New Vegas or a remaster is unclear at this point.
Chances are that they are focusing on the upcoming new season for Fallout 76. This is all very much speculation. However this did appear on the Xbox Two podcast so it could be possible. It’s the wish of many, myself included, to see a fifth game or either a remaster or remake of Fallout: New Vegas or perhaps Fallout 3. The only way we’ll know for certain is by watching the showcase next week. That takes place on 12th June at 10am PT, 1pm ET and 6pm BST. Be sure to check out our coverage of the event!
