Capcom is gearing up for the highly anticipated release of Exoprimal, an online team-based action game, and they recently treated Exofighters to an exciting preview of what’s in store during the Exoprimal Showcase. The event, hosted by Director Takuro Hiraoka, offered a sneak peek at the game’s upcoming features and enhancements, just ahead of its launch on July 14, 2023.
During the digital presentation, attendees were given a glimpse of the planned seasonal improvements, which included a brand-new mode called Dino Survival, as well as Alpha and Beta Exosuit variations. Additionally, Capcom announced exciting crossovers between Monster HunterTM and Street FighterTM 6, further adding to the game’s appeal.
One of the highlights of the showcase was the introduction of the “Final Mission Selection” function in the primary mode, Dino Survival. This feature allows players to choose from three matchmaking options: PvP (player against player), PvE (player versus environment), and random matches. In PvP games, rival squads of Exofighters engage in thrilling head-to-head battles to determine the winning team, while avoiding being fed to the raptors. PvE missions, on the other hand, focus on speed and objective completion, with the first team to finish securing survival.
For those seeking a more spontaneous experience, the random matchmaking option offers an adventurous twist and provides a small experience bonus. Players also have the freedom to adjust their preference settings and switch things up at any time.
Exoprimal Post-Launch Roadmap
Looking beyond the game’s launch, Capcom revealed their post-launch roadmap, promising regular seasonal content updates to keep players engaged. Season 1, starting alongside the game’s release, will introduce a new game mode two weeks later called Savage Gauntlet. This co-op experience presents challenging late-game PvE missions that rotate weekly, offering opportunities for replayability, higher rankings, and increased rewards. On August 17, 2023, Exoprimal will receive its first major title update, bringing in 10 Alpha variant Exosuits at once. These unique designs feature distinct weapons, providing fresh ways to enjoy both Dino Survival and Savage Gauntlet.
Season 2 is set to begin in mid-October 2023 and will bring the highly anticipated collaboration with Street Fighter 6. Players can anticipate a thrilling fusion of gameplay elements, along with additional content such as a new map, Final Mission, and more rigs and modules to enhance their experience.
As the journey continues into January 2024, Season 3 will expand the armory once again with the introduction of Beta variant Exosuits. This update will also introduce a formidable new adversary, the Neo Triceratops, offering an exciting challenge for players to conquer. Furthermore, a collaboration with the Monster Hunter series is in the works and will launch as part of Season 3, further expanding the game’s universe.
