Last year Techland was asked on Twitter to update Dying Light 1 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Gamers were requesting an update to the original title while the focus at the time was believed to be solely on the sequel
Techland was very swift to respond to their request. They simply responded they were working on a next-gen patch for Dying Light 1 and said more details were to be provided at a later date. And from then on we heard nothing on this upgrade, even when the sequel launched. However, Techland has finally spoken about this update.
Dying Light 1 Upgrade
Techland announced not only information on the updates for the game but launched the update as well. And looking at the details it’s not a full native upgrade but an update. This is seen from the fact changes have been made to the version on PlayStation 4 Pro as well as PlayStation 5. So for those on Xbox, Techland just says that the update is coming soon. Though reasons for this version taking longer could be they are working on two new consoles as well as Xbox One X or it could be certification-related
Looking at the support for PlayStation 5 we have three options. Performance Mode offers a 60fps experience in 1080p. The Balanced mode targets up to 60fps in 1440p. The final mode on PlayStation 5 is the Quality mode which is doing 4k30fps. The changes for PlayStation 4 Pro are the stabilization of the 30 fps cap. Do you feel like returning to Harran or is this a little too late thanks to the sequel launching last month.
