There have been slim pickings over the last couple of years when it comes to Disney homebrew video games. For every cute and fun ideas like Disney Illusion Island and Disney Speedstorm, you do end up waiting quite a while to being able to revisit older and beloved ideas, like Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed. But when it comes to the Disney games landscape, it has been growing, and one live service title in particular, Disney Dreamlight Valley has been on a streak with great free updates to their game you can enjoy in the downtime. Like the upcoming “Jungle Getaway” update, which will add a whole new Star Path, the ability to return to the Lion King realm in the daytime, and the addition of Timon and Pumbaa!
What you need to know about Jungle Getaway in Disney Dreamlight Valley
When you return to the Lion King realm in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you’ll be able to join up with Timon and Pumbaa to rest and relax over multiple days while doing new quests in the realm. After you complete the realm, you will be able to invite Timon and Pumbaa to your valley. This will open up new adventures between the two, like helping Timon settle into the valley, and helping Pumbaa take up pottery. With Timon and Pumbaa being added to the valley, you can expect to earn new friendship rewards as well.
The new Star Path will give you a range of new cosmetics, most notably rocker-inspired clothing. As well as concert-themed decorations. They are also adding two styles of Loungefly Disney Mini Backpacks to the game with this update. This allows you to own them both physically and digitally if you choose to purchase them.
The Jungle Getaway update will be free and is being added to all platforms on October 9th. Including Steam, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and Xbox consoles. You can also play Disney Dreamlight Valley for free with Xbox Game Pass.
