When it comes to the RTS space, a lot of developers like to keep things simple and traditional. Such as upcoming games like Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition, amongst mainstays like Age of Empires. But one of the more recent releases, Diplomacy Is Not an Option, shakes up the formula a little bit. The game is not just a traditional strategy experience. Instead, it creates a “how long can you last” twist to the formula. You will have to huddle in your fort with defenses, crops, and units, and survive against enemy hordes.
While this already sounds exciting, in a recent update, the game now allows players to customize the map with an all-new map editor, among other features. Launching side by side with a massive sale on the game on Steam, here is what you can expect from its latest update!
Diplomacy is Not an Option Map Editor Update Details
In this update for Diplomacy Is Not an Option, the map editor will include the following options for players (from the Steam Page):
- Landscape Options – Either by random generation or manual changes.
- Resource Options – Be stingy and make players count every single bit, or make them rich.
- Horde Settings – Choose when enemies attack, their numbers, etc.
- Mission Objective Options – Make players defend or attack, survive or prosper.

Steam Workshop also made its way to the game. This allows players to upload and download maps created by the community. They also added the option for units to move with the same speed on top of other changes.
Diplomacy is Not an Option is available right now on Steam for $13.49 USD until May 26th. After the sale, the game will revert to its original price tag of $29.99 USD.
