The devcom digital conference 2020 (#ddc2020) has opened its virtual doors. Developers, industry members and all people interested in games can attend two magnificent weeks to learn, teach, talk, and play. Sessions will be streamed from Monday till Friday from 2 pm till 8 pm CEST. After each session, there will be a live Q&A with the speaker. Furthermore, visitors will be able to get a closer look at Focus Home Interactive, Genvid, Improbable, Kickstarter, Modus Games, Tivola, Unity and other virtual exhibitors. Furthermore, visitors will also have the chance to schedule meetings with Assemble Entertainment, BadLand Publishing, ByteDance (TikTok), Gameforge, Headup Games, Iceberg Interactive, Intellivision Entertainment, Koch Media, Konami, Marvelous, Nutaku Publishing, Perfect World and many more publishers.
The speaker line-up of exceptional industry personalities makes ddc2020 the place to be for all things games. Standouts are David Brevik, President at Greybeard Games and Skystone Games, and former President of Blizzard North will conduct a post-mortem about Diablo 2. Anastasia Opara, Procedural Artist at Embark Studios, will hold her talk “Place Like I Do!” about Example-based Procedural Placement.
The Head of Design at D.I.C.E., Fawzi Mesmar, will explain details about “Effective Prototyping” and Shiew Yeu Lo, Art Manager at Pocket Gems, is talking about the challenges that come with working in between career and mothership in the games industry. Furthermore, Matias Myllyrinne, the CEO of Redhill Games, will give a lecture on leading a constantly growing team and Dr. Courtney Cogburn, Associate Professor at Columbia University School of Social Work and faculty member of the Columbia Population Research Center will give an overview about the sensitive topic of racism in games and media.
