Cyberpunk 2077’s Update 2.3 Rolls Out July 17, Bringing New Features and Mac Release

CD PROJEKT RED has announced that Update 2.3 for Cyberpunk 2077 will launch on July 17, introducing a wide range of quality-of-life features and gameplay content. The update arrives alongside the official Ultimate Edition release for Apple Silicon Macs, marking a major platform expansion for the open-world RPG.

Developed in partnership with Virtuos—continuing the collaboration seen in Update 2.2—this latest patch brings automated transportation, additional side quests, new vehicles, expanded Photo Mode options, and several performance improvements.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3

AutoDrive and Delamain Taxis Expand Travel Options

Among the most notable additions in Update 2.3 is AutoDrive, a system that allows players to set a destination on the map and have their owned vehicle drive them there automatically. This hands-free feature brings a cinematic twist to traversal, complete with optional camera angles that highlight the dystopian sprawl of Night City.

Players can also now make use of the Delamain taxi service, a premium ride-hailing feature that enables them to summon a cab, select a destination, and enjoy the ride for a eurodollar fee. These new mobility options give players more flexibility in how they explore the city—whether they prefer to sit back or take control.

New Quests and Vehicles, Including Comic Tie-In

Update 2.3 also expands Cyberpunk’s world with new side quests and four new vehicles, including a motorcycle and three cars. One standout is the Yaiba Semimaru, a vehicle originally featured in the Cyberpunk 2077: Kickdown comic, now made available in-game through quest progression.

Photo Mode Gets a Major Upgrade

Players interested in capturing the aesthetic of Night City will find much to like in the expanded Photo Mode. The update introduces new customization tools that allow players to:

  • Adjust weather conditions and time of day
  • Select from a wider range of NPCs, outfits, and poses
  • Add new stickers and frames
  • Fine-tune character expressions and positioning, including control over head, eye, and shoulder direction

These enhancements give players greater creative control and versatility when composing in-game shots.

Performance & Technology Enhancements

Update 2.3 also includes several technical improvements, with support for:

  • VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) on consoles
  • AMD FSR 4.0 and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation
  • Intel XeSS 2.0
  • Refined HDR settings
  • And various performance optimizations across platforms

Full patch notes are available on CD PROJEKT RED’s official website for those seeking a more detailed breakdown.

Mac Support and Future Plans

The update’s release coincides with the launch of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on Mac, specifically targeting Apple silicon models with at least 16GB of memory. This version includes all previously released content and updates. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also in development, with Update 2.3 set to arrive on that platform at a later date.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 launches July 17 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Apple silicon Macs. With quality-of-life improvements, expanded travel options, and a deeper Photo Mode, the update marks another step forward in the game’s post-launch evolution.
