Lightspeed Studios has finally announced their next project is on the way. It is their first AAA game after the success of PubG mobile, which was nominated for best esports title. It’s a “open-world martial arts game set in ancient China,” according to IGN. So, allow me to introduce you to Code: Jin Yong, please.
Code: To Jin Yong is a departure from the smartphone versions of PubG and Apex Legends. The game will be using the Unreal Engine 5 and based on the work of Jin Yong. For those who are unfamiliar, they are a legendary Chinese novelist whose writings depict a fictional martial art discipline. The game is going to be a tribute to Jin Yong. His work has already been adapted into video games, film, and television. Code: To Jin Yong is the most recent release.
According to the clip, we can expect fierce swordplay as well as magic-based combat. Another feature that distinguishes adaptations is that this is the first to be set in the present day. It is also the first to appeal to an English-speaking fan base, making his work more accessible and bringing it to a wider audience.
We still don’t know what platforms the game will be available on. At this point, the gameplay we’re seeing isn’t final, so it might change, and it will almost certainly alter in some way. So, how do you feel about this news? Would you be interested in playing this game? As always, we welcome your feedback.
At the moment, the game is expected to be released later this year. So, maybe, we’ll hear more in the near future.
