If you have been following us, you will likely know about a game by the name of Chernobylite. It’s a survival horror RPG, which would be not far removed from the feel of STALKER 2. Be sure to check out our Chernobylite review played on PC. You should also know about the upcoming console release on September 7th for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. However, no information has been given for the Xbox Series X/S or PlayStation 5 versions which are not just slightly optimized versions. Meaning no release information or upgrade information.
If we have Xbox One or PlayStation 4 how much is it and can we preorder?
Finally, the console release has a price. This has come from The Farm 51, All In! Games and Perp Games announced the price point.
There is a physical copy but not for Xbox One. This isn’t that unusual as a similar scenario happened with Daymare 1998. That’s the game that was meant to be a remake for Resident Evil 2 before Capcom did their remake.
Both consoles though can purchase Chernobylite via their respective store. The digital price for both consoles is $29.99 / €29.99 / £24.99. If you wish to purchase it physically the price is $34.99 / €34.99 / £29.99. However, it is possible in the UK to find a cheaper price. An example of where can be found here. Digital copies are not up for preorder as yet, however, this isn’t unusual.
What have they said on the console release?
The CEO at All in! Games,Piotr Żygadło had this to say:
With the PC launch right around the corner, we’re thrilled to reveal that we’ve locked in Chernobylite’s console release for this September. Working on our first simultaneous physical release together with Perp Games has been a great experience so far and a huge milestone for All in! Games. We are confident that Chernobylite will be one of the most exciting indie games of 2021 and intend to continue to give it our full support.
And from the developer, The Farm 51, we have this from their Director of Development, Wojciech Pazdur,
It’s humbling to see how Chernobylite’s original concept, an interactive VR documentary, has become a full-blown video game, soon to be available across a variety of platforms. We can’t wait for people to start exploring the hauntingly beautiful recreation of the real-world Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
What about game features?
If you have missed some of these, here’s a quick reminder
- Stealth, Survival, & Combat – Survival in the Zone is not easy, and each day brings new challenges as your comrades die and supplies diminish. Avoid detection with stealth takedowns or engage in open armed combat. Danger lurks around every corner.
- Base Building & Crafting – Construct a base from which to plan your daily operations and excursions. Utilize workstations to craft gadgets, traps, and weapons, or modify existing equipment to your needs.
