The sudden announcement from Sony over the PlayStation Plus restructure isn’t the only big news of the day. The other headline news belongs to Nintendo. However more so towards a rather anticipated sequel. Meaning today’s news is all about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was a launch title for the Switch and launched the same day as the Wii U version. It was positively received by fans and critics alike. So naturally, a sequel was eagerly awaited and very much in demand. Nintendo has not talked about this sequel since it’s reveal last year so today’s update is the first in quite some time. Especially when all we’d seen was that reveal trailer and it was due this year.
The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Sequel. Where We Stand Today.
Nintendo was as we know planning a 2022 launch and now we have bad news for fans. Eiji Aonuma, the series producer, via video announced the delay.
The new date is Spring next year. This is a summary of what Eiji Aonuma said in the video.
For those of you who have been looking forward to a release this year, we apologise.
As previously announced, the adventure in this sequel will take place not just on the ground as in the previous game, but also in the skies above.
However, the expanded world goes beyond that, and there will be an even wider variety of features you can enjoy, including new encounters and new gameplay elements.
Eiji Aonuma on the delay to their sequel for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Aonuma did promise the plan id to make the sequel “something special”. And we can only hope it’s not too long until we see some gameplay of the sequel and hear of any changes. Will we still have the same weapon degradation as the crafting system?
