The development of Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 has certainly been a troubled one. The narrative lead was sacked. Consequently further down the line Paradox Interactive put development on hold. This was when the developers Hardsuit Labs were taken off the project. Earlier this year they announced all physical copies preordered would be refunded. As well as this, you could get a refund on a digital pre-order. Also, they posted an update on what was happening with the troubled game in September. One of my favourite RPGs is Vampire The Masquerade Redemption. So being a fan of the franchise I was interested.
Therefore as we enter September we have a new trailer for the game. This can be seen below.
Now from the trailer, we see a new development team at the helm with The Chinese Room being the studio behind the game. For those who don’t know the name, they are from Brighton in the UK and I revisited not too long ago one of their big successes. That was Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture. They also did Dear Esther and Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs. They have another horror title due next year called Still Wakes The Deep. So seeing a studio where I have a lot of time for creating the world of Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 is news I’m excited about.
What We Know About Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2
Well, we have the new development team revealed. They also had a behind-the-scenes video here. However, fans are going to ask one thing, When can we expect to see this game? Firstly the trailer for the game shows a Fall 2024 release window. So that puts a released period around a year away. The trailer description also tells us we can expect a gameplay reveal in January. Meaning we are not far away from seeing what the game will look like.
