2020 for fans of the MCU was a sad period. On the 28th of August the world lost the actor playing Black Panther, Chadwick Boseman and Marvel decided not to recast the character. Instead, he gets a tribute to his passing in the upcoming sequel Wakanda Forever.

Following on from that, Jeff Grubb posted something interesting which no doubt we will here more of soon. He quoted the Wakanda Forever trailer tweet with a bit of a bombshell yesterday.

Wakanda Forever trailer is great. Let’s talk about the Black Panther game live tomorrow on #GameMessMornings at 11 a.m. Eastern

Black Panther The Game

A Black Panther game is on the way according to Jeff Grubb. Nibellion tweeted the following on what Jeff Grubb said

So Jeff Grubb believes EA has a Black Panther game in development. The game is currently called Project Rainier and is under the mantle of Kevin Stephens. He is the former vice president of Monolith and now head of a new studio. When we heard of this studio last year we got an idea of what game was on the cards.

The studio doesn’t have a name yet, but it will be working to create an open-world action-adventure game. Stephens knows the genre well, having overseen Monolith Productions during development of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-earth: Shadow of War.

So it looks like Black Panther is that game as Grubb claims we play the iconic character in a open-world single-player game which is said to be early in development. However what do you think about this news? As always get in touch with us and share your thoughts. We love hearing from you and what you have to say. With a track record of the Middle Earth games Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War, can we expect a similar open world approach with this upcoming project?
