Experiment 101 has developed one of my most anticipated RPGs of this year. Biomutant looks to deliver an intense Martial Arts focused action RPG. This post-apocalyptic world filled with Kung Fu, guns, melee weapons, and a variety of mutated animals looks amazing. Surprisingly, the extended gameplay recently released does not stray far from past trailers. Published by THQ Nordic this title originally set to release in 2019, will now release this month.
Biomutant at first glance is full of vibrant colors, campy vibes, and furry animals. Then you add in mutations giant guns, hand-designed mechs, and Kung Fu. What originally grabbed my attention about this upcoming title was the RPG elements and customization. Not only will you be able to choose your race and fur color. You will also adjust your resistances and attributes. For me, as a self-proclaimed “RPG Gamer” this immediately grabbed my attention. Looking further into it and watching a few breakdown videos from Fextralife on YouTube. I realized I did not understand the full scope of the customization.
Biomutant Looks To Deliver Deep Customization
Looking at the screenshot above gives a broad look at the depth of the customization. We have the genre standard base stats vitality, strength, intellect, charisma, agility, and ever-mysterious luck. The sub-stats that stand out to me the most are barter and loot chance. Often when I play RPG’s I lean towards bartering and crafting. So, the idea that there will be large amounts of looting and a place to sell them too has me hype. This adds more depth to the game and even more so increases the chance of replayability. As long as this game’s combat feels as fun as the gameplay videos make it look this game will shine. I can imagine all of the merchandise they have ready for this title.
