Gamescom 2022 had a night filled to the brim with exciting announcements. From trailers to new information, and release dates for some pretty big games. With a variety of both indie games and triple-A titles on full display. One of the show’s standout moments was the announcement of Atlas Fallen. This is the newest Action RPG coming from developer Deck13 and published by Focus Entertainment.
Game Design Director Jérémy Hartvick elaborates more on what Deck13 aims to accomplish with Atlas Fallen in a PlayStation blog post. He elaborates on their approach towards combat, where they aim for “fast-paced and effects-loaded fights that require skill and timing.“ I encourage you to check out the blog post for more details on the upcoming fantasy adventure.
Game feel is our main concern when it comes to designing Atlas Fallen. We’ve left strict constraints of realism aside to focus on giving a thrilling, overpowering feeling to the game. One of the chief design elements to achieve this is Sand Gliding, which is how the hero will move across the vast world of Atlas Fallen. It’s key to the game’s high mobility system, and it brings amazing speed and verticality to the spectacular action of combats.Deck13 Game Design Director Jérémy Hartvick
