We’re close to two years into this console generation. Prior to this and as it’s come along it’s brought some games to my attention that really caught my eye. Everyone is different with different tastes and that means the games I’ll mention may not be to your tastes. However, you may or may not discover a game you’ve never heard of or know much about. That’s the joy of gaming, everyone has different tastes and anticipated games. It’s for me, what keeps things unique.
At present some of these are not even close to release and console releases may not even happen. We’ve seen what Xbox brought to our attention prior to the launch of the Xbox Series X/S. We’ve also talked about the PlayStation 5 line up and some of those games they showed are here. Titles such as Stray for PlayStation and Bright Memory Infinite as well. Many will have anticipated games that aren’t even on these showcases or not often mentioned
My selection comes from a wide range of genres. Two of my favorite games from the last generation. One was A Plague Tale Innocence the sequel, A Plague Tale Requiem is due in October. The other title was Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. The sequel is one of the games I can’t wait for. The Day Before wasn’t shown early on but with a feel of The Division and its Dark Zone and The Last of Us and some impressive early looks, it catches my eye. STALKER 2 is a sequel that’s been fans of the original, myself included which is due next year. Although you can jump into a similar game out now in Chernobylite.
Some other games I could include are less talked about. Horror is a genre I love so naturally, the upcoming Resident Evil 4 Remake is on. I have games like ill, Stray Souls, The Lost Wild, and Instinction.
Simulation games I enjoy so Dreamhouse – The Game which is coming to console and PC was one that caught my eye when I saw the early footage done in Unreal Engine 5.
That’s Not All
Far from it, I could list some survival games like Rooted or Sons of The Forest. Some upcoming games are due in the next few months like The Callisto Protocol, Scorn, God of War Ragnarök, and The Last of Us Part 1. Upcoming remakes to Gothic and Alone in the Dark will be other titles I look forward to. We have an open-world Terminator project in the works which could be added to my list. Gamescom is just around the corner so this list could change again. We would love to hear what games you’re looking forward to.
