Anno 1800 Finally Console Bound

Anno 1800

City building or real-time strategy titles are arriving on consoles in full force. We have the fantastic port of Age of Empires 2 on Xbox. I’ve hardly touched the campaign on this. My time in this has mostly been spent in pvp or co-op with friends. It eats time away. The most important thing is it translates to the console. Cities Skylines is also getting upgraded for the new console hardware. Also coming to console is one of the genre’s big hitters in Anno 1800 as shown in the trailer below.

Anno is a long-running series. The first game launched back in 1998 with Anno 1602. Twenty-five years later after a successful PC launch it’s console bound. Anno 1800 on console has lots to live up to. After all, it’s classed as very positive on Steam from 80% of 5,653 all-time reviews and 84% of 390 recent reviews. The console port comes next month so close to four years after its launch on PC. Steam has four season passes already so we have to wait and see what content from these if any, will hit the console.

Can Anno 1800 Work On the Console

There is no reason why not, history shows it can succeed. Age of Empires 2 is so smooth and easy to play on console as is Cities Skylines. Games like Aven Colony and Surviving Mars also work incredibly well. Another game in the genre is Endzone A World Apart. I own it on Steam and PlayStation 5 and the game is very easy to play on both. So if Ubisoft has taken the time to work on it, Anno should be a success. So as for when it comes, the console version hits March 16th. It launches on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
