Alien and Aliens are both considered classic films. Both have a distinct feel to them, as do the games that accompany them. On the one hand, we have the Fireteam elite squad shooter. The other game in question is a great example of horror in a game in my opinion. Alien Isolation was the story of Ellen Ripley’s daughter.
It seems the franchise is returning to gaming as we have the announcement of a collaboration between 20th Century Fox and the developer Survios. What we have to look forward to is a “single-player, action-horror” game based on the Alien franchise. They posted the following on Twitter.
Aliens – In Space No One Can Hear You Scream
The official website just lists the title, Aliens, and the following details
This new Aliens game will feature an original storyline, set between the Alien and Aliens films, where a battle hardened veteran has a vendetta against the Xenomorphs.
The game will take full advantage of Survios’ expertise in creating immersive and authentic gaming experiences, and is being developed for the PC, Console, and VR.
Created using Unreal Engine 5
The fact we are getting a VR release isn’t a surprise. They have a selection of VR games in their repertoire. Games such as The Walking Dead Onslaught, Creed Rise to Glory, Westworld Awakening, and a few more.
We know the game will run on PC and consoles and will be powered by Unreal Engine 5. There are no specifics on console versions, but don’t rule out that it will be exclusive to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Moreover, it could launch on PlayStation VR 2. Survios retweeted the article by Endgadget who state we will find out more at the San Diego Comic-Con panel on 21st July. Though for your Alien game fix there is Alien Isolation and Aliens Fireteam Elite. Both of these are available in Xbox Game Pass and we have Dark Descent coming next year as well.
