So we have Gamescom just around the corner with some big titles getting updates. We potentially have the release date to come for STALKER 2 as that’s confirmed to be making an appearance. We also have fresh details on an upcoming sequel to the cult classic Remedy title. No surprise we are talking about Alan Wake 2. Recently there was the announcement that Alan Wake 2 will be at Gamescom next week ahead of its October launch.
Focusing on October releases, we have a vast selection of titles releasing that month. Not only do we have Alan Wake 2 but we have the release of the remake of Alone in the Dark. We also have the new entry to Assassin’s Creed with Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Spider-Man 2 is also set for release that month. Those are definitely not it, we also have Forza Motorsport, Slender The Arrival remake and Lords of the Fallen are also releasing in October. Add this to the big titles that will launch the month before and there are a lot of games to choose from. Remedy based on their most recent decision has taken notice of this as well.
The Latest On Alan Wake 2
Well, recently we have seen Assassin’s Creed Mirage date moved and that it has gone gold. Now we have news of a delay to Alan Wake 2. Fear not, as we see from the announcement it’s the chaotic amount of October releases that has caused this delay.
The game has shifted till the end of the month for a simple reason. Remedy wants fans time to enjoy their favourite games. No doubt a release just before Spider-Man 2 was going to be a problem sales-wise. There are so many titles within a similar genre that will release in the same window. Along with the sure-to-be mega-hit Spider-Man 2. So moving the release back a few days may turn out to be a very wise decision for sales and player retention. What are the titles you are looking forward to picking up and playing during October? Let us know in the comments and chat with us on social media.
