Refugium Games just dropped a fresh trailer that focuses on the story for their upcoming game Agefield High: Rock the School. Agefield High is a coming-of-age adventure game set in 2002. The new trailer introduces Sam, Kale, and Axel, the trio that the story revolves around, navigating the complexity of both the early 2000s and high school.
Sam, our main character, is the new kid at Agefield High with his best friends Kale and Axel. This being their senior year, they are looking to go out with a bang and leave their legacy behind. In the latest trailer, Refugium showed off their cinematic gameplay, which weaves through branching narratives with multiple endings. The school system is comprehensive, allowing players to choose whether to attend classes or not; meanwhile, Sam progresses through his English, Math, Geography, Music, and German classes. Without the sounds and vibes from the early 2000’s, Agefield High would be incomplete. Buy clothes, accessories, bikes, hairstyles, and a ton more all while jamming out to a pop-punk soundtrack. Vibrant colors and the comedic shenanigans of the early 2000’s drive Agefield High’s gameplay.
Refugium Games originally started out as a solo developer in 2023 with their first game, Greyhill Matter, a game about UFOs invading. Unfortunately for them, Greyhill Matter received extensive negative reviews due to a lack of beta testing. Taken as a lesson learned, they successfully launched their second game, Vacant’s Mine, which grabbed the attention of other developers. This attention turned into developers joining Refugium Games and beginning work on what they call their dream game, Agefield High: Rock the School.
Agefield High is currently in development with a tentative release window set for the summer of 2026. When Agefield High: Rock the School is ready to start their school year, the game will be available on PC via STEAM with plans to launch on consoles at a later date.
