Asobo Studios had a huge hit with their title A Plague Tale Innocence. As of summer last year the title sold globally over 1 million copies, myself included in that number. It was nominated in The Game Awards for best narrative and as a result, featured heavily in best of 2019 lists by critics.
At the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase today, they revealed the sequel to the original tale. In A Plague Tale Requiem we continue the story of Amicia and Hugo, the brother and sister from the original.
The original was a third-person action-adventure game with horror and stealth elements. Very little is known on how the sequel will play but it looks like it follows the events of the original.
This will launch next year for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. For those on Xbox, it will be in Gamepass at launch, as mentioned on the Xbox official trailer.
With only a vague date in place and no gameplay reveal we only have the original game to go from. As it stands, it is a good start for as we know it was well-received. For those unsure about the original release, here is the uncut gameplay trailer.
