We are all well aware of some of the troubles at Ubisoft right now. In the last 6 months, we’ve seen games delayed games like Skull and Bones once again and Avatar Frontiers of Pandora. They have also had a poor financial report, and Yves Guillemot upsetting the French Trade Union with his remarks over the poor sales. Staff have left the company, and this is only the most recent of issues. On the positive side gamers have gotten Ubisoft + on PlayStation in the form of Ubisoft + Classics. This has yet to hit Xbox but we could hopefully be close to some news. Recently, they hit the news again, and not in a good way, with an older release. You may be wondering what has recently gotten The Division 2 so much attention?
The Division 2 has been around for a while; in fact, it will be four years old next month. Ubisoft was about to release “Season 11: Reign of Fire,” the game’s new content. This was supposed to go live on February 7th. However, a few days prior to the launch, they announced a delay due to localization issues, as we can see from the tweet below.
The Division 2 Update And What’s Gone Wrong With It
Naturally, the team tried to fix the issues plaguing the Season 11 delay. Then they announced it will take a bit longer and they can’t extend the current season. The main reason for all this delay and issues is they fixed the problem they initially had, but in turn, this created a brand new error. The error crashed the games build generation, and until they rebuild that, they are unable to update the game. This is bad news for Ubisoft after the game was released on Steam last month to mixed reviews. It seems the main complaint is the game crashing. Now new and old players have to wait till the game is actually able to be updated, which is definitely not the Steam launch Ubisoft wanted.
