After the community dividing release of Assassin’s Creed Odyessy, we have been graced with teaser artwork of the next main Ubisoft game Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The 12th game in line has been teased in today’s Ubisoft Livestream with BossLogic working on teaser concept art. The stream showed BossLogic or Kode Abdo working on a Viking themed piece with our character Eivor (yet to be fully) seen standing in the center in Viking styled assassin’s robes splitting the scene in half. One half depicting 2 Viking ships sailing in a frozen land which almost confirms a return to more water-based combat first brought to series in Black Flag. The other side shows a crumbling castle with a war raging on a battlefield in front of it.
The Viking themed game was originally leaked in early this year and was rumored to be called Ragnarok which we know now was a placeholder or working title. According to an article from Jason Schreier back in 2019 The Division 2 spilled some details about the next Assassin’s Creed title. At the same time, a 4chan leak also including the alleged release date, consoles it will be released on, co-op gameplay, new systems and mechanics, and huge explorable maps.
After a year break from the series following the release of Assassin’s Creed Odyessy speculation was running on what the next game would be, look like, be called, the era it would be set in and the gameplay style. The world trailer that will drop on April 30th 11 EDT will be expected to show the setting, our character, new gameplay features, release date, consoles, and hints of story. Assassin’s Creed with Vikings is another in a line of potential concepts the community has been asking for, for years, and in the near future, we will get our wish answered.
Will you be buying it? What are you looking forward to the most for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla? Is Vikings the next logical step for the series? What would you like to see next? Let me know in the comments below!
