Where Gaming Begins

343 Industries Will Switch Off Xbox 360 Halo Servers Early Next Year

In December, 343 industries stated the Halo Xbox 360 servers were being turned off. However, these titles can still be played via the Master Chief Collection. For those wanting to still experience this legacy, it is available in Xbox Game Pass. If you just so happen to be gaming on the Xbox 360, be aware that Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST, Halo 4, Halo Reach, Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary, Spartan Assault, and Halo Wars will no longer be playable online on January 13th, 2022.

343 Industries are focusing on the future. They have stated in their blog the following:

Every cycle spent maintaining and supporting Xbox 360 legacy services is time and energy not spent on the future of Halo.  Owners of these titles will still be able to play these games indefinitely, however, certain online features and experiences, particularly online matchmaking, will be limited or disabled.

Halo Infinite is getting closer to launch. On December 8th gamers get their hands on the newest addition of the franchise that follows the story from the 2015 release Halo 5 Guardians. Next month is also the 20th anniversary of the franchise and to celebrate there is a special edition customer Halo Infinite Xbox Series X console and an Elite 2 controller.  Though if you haven’t managed to preorder you may very struggle as both appear to be out of stock.

This week we got a fresh look at the campaign. We originally saw it over the Summer last year and it wasn’t a popular viewing. At the time the release was delayed till this year. Even at launch we don’t see a co-op campaign or Forge mode. These come next year. Thankfully it seems the fan thoughts on the new reveal are more positive.
