11 Bit Studios Announcing A More Macabre Farming Sim—Crop

Crop

From the ground many great things can be grown, but some things should stay buried. Recently at the Triple-I Showcase, a presentation all about showcasing indie games, 11 Bit Studios announced a new and rotting farming sim, ‘Crop.’ 11 Bit is well known for their previous successes with Frostpunk, The Alters, This War of Mine, and Children of Morta.

Crop is, on the surface, a game about reviving a decaying plot of land, but as the reveal trailer expands on the world, the potential story to be harvested here leans into a much darker tone as flashes of potential psychosis intersperse the routine farming life.

Crop Key Features

  • High-Stakes Farming Gameplay – Manage a decaying farm where every decision directly impacts a starving village’s survival.
  • Strategic Crop Management – Plan and organize crops efficiently, using irrigation systems, trenches, and compost to maximize yield.
  • Hands-On Farm Restoration – Clear overgrown land, repair broken equipment, and reclaim a neglected homestead piece by piece.
  • Dynamic Environmental Challenges – Adapt to harsh weather, pests, and limited resources using tools like rain gear, scarecrows, and pesticides.
  • Meaningful Player Choice – Every action—from digging ditches to allocating resources—shapes your success or failure.
  • Atmospheric Isolation – Experience life in a cut-off town where survival depends entirely on your efforts.
  • Narrative-Driven Mystery – Uncover why you were brought to the farm and what secrets the town is hiding.
  • Investigation Meets Survival – Balance farming duties with uncovering clues and exploring unsettling truths.
  • Psychological Tension – A slow-burning sense of dread builds as shadows deepen and unseen forces watch your every move.
  • Immersive Day-Night Cycle – Transition from methodical daytime labor to eerie nighttime exploration filled with unease.

While not much was revealed about this particularly disturbing upcoming sim, what is shown is quite different from other farming sims you may have gotten dirty with in the past. Crop currently has a Steam Store page that you can wishlist to keep up-to-date with. While there is no known release date currently, we simply can’t wait to see what rots beneath the surface that Crop offers.
